The Best Target Salad Kit: All the Good & Gather Salad Kits, Ranked for Any Target Fan

The best salad kits are easy, affordable, and interesting. And Target’s Good & Gather salad kits are some of the most interesting and tasty salad kits on the market. But some are better than others. Read on for a complete ranking of Target salad kits.

We tried every single Target salad kit currently available and ranked them from our least favorite to the ones we can’t stop buying. I’ll start off by saying that, overall, we were thoroughly impressed. Most of these are really cool flavors and super budget-friendly. And they’re not just making fun, interesting salads—they’re even doing classic salads well! I had never purchased salad kids before, but Target made me a believer. And before you say it: No. This is not an ad. I just really liked a lot of these salad kits!

Here are all the Target Good & Gather salad kits, ranked.

Salad Kit!

Maple Bourbon Bacon

This tastes like straight-up booze. I’m not sure who this is for, but it’s definitely not for us.

Salad Kit!

Avocado Toast

This is packaged avocado gone wrong. The salad kit includes a packet of the avocado puree that’s a lot like the one you get if you order avocado at Subway. I love you, Target, but stop making this.

Salad Kit!

Avocado Ranch

If you see a Good & Gather salad kit with avocado in it., just throw it down and run away! This is not as bad as the avocado toast, but it’s not good either. Just get a better Good & Gather salad kit and then put some fresh avocado on top.

Salad Kit!

Asian-Style

This is not bad, it’s just boring. It’s like coleslaw with sesame dressing instead of mayo. If you added scallions and chicken and cashews, this would be good in a wrap. That being said, you should not have to add so many things to a salad kit to make it a meal. Plus, what is “Asian” style? Asia is huge. Stop slapping the word “Asian” on anything that has soy sauce in it.

Salad Kit!

Southwest

It’s the same as the Asian Style salad kit, but with a Southwestern-style creamy dressing that’s a little spiced. Once again, this needs black beans, avocado, fresh corn, etc. If you’re looking for a base for something bigger, this is a good buy.

Salad Kit!

Mexican-Style Caesar

This is good, but I wouldn’t buy it because there are simply better Good & Gather salad kits out there. Also, it’s not particular “Mexican” in flavor, even with the jalapeño lime dressing and the addition of Monterey Jack cheese. It’s just a caesar salad that has a little bit of spice. Just buy the regular caesar salad kit and add a dash of hot sauce.

Salad Kit!

Buffalo Ranch

I love the flavor of the dressing and the crouton crumbles, but this suffers from the same issues as Asian Style and Southwest. It feels more like a coleslaw base than a salad.

Salad Kit!

Asiago Kale

This is when the Good & Gather salad kits really start to get really good. This salad kit is so tasty. It’s the perfect accompaniment to Italian food like pesto pasta or minestrone soup. This would also be phenomenal as the green element on a sandwich. A little grilled steak, some balsamic reduction, and this salad kit on ciabatta would be killer.

Salad Kit!

Everything Seasoned

I wouldn’t necessarily say this reminded me of an everything bagel, but it was very delicious! It gave coleslaw vibes in the best way possible. It’s crunchy with just a hint of sweetness and the perfect amount of salt. I would add some smoked salmon to this for a bagel-inspired salad.

Salad Kit!

Apple Cheddar

This salad kit tastes like it has bacon in it, but it’s vegetarian. I feel like that’s a huge win for meat-free people. If you have a hankering for something nice and smoky, grab this bag of Apple Cheddar salad. If you do eat meat, pair it with a steak or grilled chicken.

Salad Kit!

Sweet Kale

“Sweet Kale” is both a good and bad name for this salad. It is sweet and there is kale, making the name true. I would, however, never buy a salad that had the word “sweet” in the title. Why would you want a sweet salad? Luckily, this is perfectly balanced and not just sweet. The dried cranberries are both sweet and tart. The poppy seed dressing has sweetness, too, but it is also salty. I loved this Sweet Kale!

Salad Kit!

Dill-licious

This salad kit is so fun! I love the crunchy radishes and the dill dressing. I would totally put a burger patty on top of this with some melty American cheese and grilled onions and a squirt of mustard and have a burger salad.

Salad Kit!

Thai-Style Chili Mango

I was a little skeptical when I found out this salad kit included dried mango pieces and not a mango dressing, but my fears were quickly quelled. I loved this salad. The dressing was sweet and sour and had a nice kick. I loved the sunflower seeds and crispy quinoa. The dried mango fit right in! This would be great on its own, topped with some tofu, or served alongside some stir-fried noodles. This is definitely a must-buy salad kit, in my opinion.

Salad Kit!

Chopped Caesar

I know caesar is the most boring salad on this list, but this is a truly phenomenal salad kit and it is certainly the best Target Good & Gather salad kit. This is a restaurant quality caesar salad. I liked it so much, I bought one the next day to accompany homemade pizza. The lettuce is the perfect size. The dressing is both creamy and tangy. The crouton crumbles fall into every nook and cranny of this salad and give it the perfect crunch. I will continue to buy this salad kit and I hope you try it!
