New Mountain Dew VooDEW Froster! Our Honest Review

Some folks say that spooky season doesn’t start until October. They are wrong! If Mariah Carey gets two months of Christmas, we get two months of spooky, dang it. How do we know that spooky season is well underway? Mountain Dew VooDEW has made its annual return for the sixth time. We recently gave it a try and locked in our official guess as PINK STARBURSTS.

The spooky Dew fun doesn’t end there, though, as Circle K has graced us with a brand new VooDEW Froster (that’s what Circle K calls their freezes). This is the first time VooDEW has been frozen and it’s exclusive to Circle K. And I stopped in to try it. Read on for the full review (and whether or not it changes our guess as to the flavor of this year’s VooDEW).

Mountain Dew VooDEW Froster

New Circle K Froster!

Mountain Dew VooDEW Froster

Pros: I knew that this new Froster featured strawberry juice concentrate in the ingredients and you can absolutely tell! This is VERY sweet and VERY strawberry. I thought the soda was flavorful, but this is exponentially more flavorful. I drank it down quite quickly and will definitely go back for seconds. Just like Rhett & Link are the Peanut Butter Boys, I am the Strawberry Boy, and I will never hate on a good strawberry-flavored product.

Cons: This is probably more of a personal gripe, but it melts quite fast and, as it melts, it becomes less enjoyable. I wish there was some way that I could make it melt slower. And, of course, if you don’t enjoy strawberry flavor, you should definitely avoid this one.

Does this change our guess about the flavor of 2024 VooDEW?

Some folks say that the flavor could be Strawberry Creme Savers or Everlasting Gobstoppers. Well, I tried those candies side-by-side with the Froster. But I’m still very confident in my original prediction. I am maintaining that this year’s VooDEW flavor is Strawberry Starburst.
