Bovril changed the recipe to your jar’s version during the pandemic but have since reverted back to the old recipe. I assume this will take a little while to filter through the supply chain.

Contents Yeast Extract 52% (contains Barley,wheat oats,rye), water maltodextrin, rice flour, salt colour (150c) Corn starch, Flavourings (contain celery), Acidity Regulator(270) Flavour enhancers (631, 627). No mention of dead rendered animals….. I think the change was made quiet a few years back. Maybe you’ve got old stock ??
