We all know that classic picture of Americana: sitting on the front porch, rocking in your rocking chair, fanning yourself with a king size Kit Kat. Well, we have good news; you won’t be stuck with a boring old chocolate Kit Kat this year, because there’s a new, summery Kit Kat flavor. Pink Lemonade Kit Kat is here and we got to try it.
Made with the classic Kit Kat wafers enrobed in pink lemonade-flavored creme, this limited edition Kit Kat is designed to appeal to Millennial and Gen Z tastes. According to a press release from the brand, “more than 93% [of Gen Zers and Millennials] express a preference for Pink Lemonade treats.” As a Millennial, I can support this claim. I do enjoy pink lemonade (I’m a Natalie’s fan, personally, as shown in our ranking of the best lemonade). But is it any good in Kit Kat form? Read on for the full review.

What flavor is pink lemonade? It might be lemonade with strawberry. It might be lemonade with raspberry. It might just be lemonade with red dye in it. After tasting the new Kit Kat Pink Lemonade, I can tell you that Kit Kat thinks pink lemonade is strawberry—mostly strawberry with very little of the lemonade part of the equation.
Pros: Aesthetically, the Pink Lemonade Kit Kat is a beautiful shade of pink. It’s pale and pleasant, certainly reminiscent of a Minute Maid pink lemonade. (One might even call it Millennial pink.) And, like many Kit Kat flavors, this one is gentle and subtle. It doesn’t hit you over the head. It tastes like strawberries and cream—and it’s not fake strawberry, either. This tastes like super-sweet fresh strawberries churned into creamy ice cream. I thought the brand was joking when they called this new Kit Kat flavor “refreshing,” but it really is refreshing. It won’t weigh you down.
Cons: It doesn’t taste like lemonade at all. If you were hoping for tang and zip and zest, you’ll be disappointed. If you really, really focus, you might catch the slightest hint of acidity on the finish. But who’s doing that besides a professional food taste tester, such as myself? As a Millennial, I was excited about a lemony Kit Kat. But, sadly, this wasn’t it.
