What are the best Dot’s Pretzels flavors? In fact, how many flavors of Dot’s Homestyle Pretzels are there? We rounded up all four of their twisted pretzel flavors (including Dot’s honey mustard pretzels), plus Dot’s Baked Cheese Curls (which aren’t pretzels obviously, but still exist within the Dot’s Cinematic Universe), to give you a definitive ranking of the best Dot’s snacks you can buy.
Listen to me: All of the Dot’s flavors are superb. By flavor alone, you can tell they are crafted with care and expertise. Dot’s understands seasoning blends, and how to make those seasoning blends actually stick to the pretzel itself. But at the end of the day, it’s the quality of the pretzel twists that make these really stand out. No matter the flavor, Dot’s pretzel twists are somehow both crunchy and smooth on the bite—their snap gives way to a perfectly baked, toasty middle. More importantly, every pretzel twist has a beautiful buttery finish that keeps you coming back for more.
And that’s why ranking the best Dot’s pretzels flavors is no easy feat. I personally give all the credit to the original founder, Dorthy Henke, aka “Dot” herself, who went from selling homemade seasoned pretzels at football games to creating a mini snack empire… that Hersheyland later acquired for $1.2 billion (yes, billion). These big-name pretzels have small, homegrown roots, and guess what? You can tell with every bite. So without further ado, here’s how we ranked the best Dot’s pretzel flavors, from “pretty darn yummy” to “outright incredible.”

Dot’s Honey Mustard Pretzels lean to the sweeter side of honey mustard, and frankly, that’s what makes them so delicious. Why are they ranked last, then? Compared to the other snacks in the Dot’s lineup, Dot’s Honey Mustard Pretzels have a much subtler flavor profile. They definitely nod at that signature Snyder’s honey mustard pretzel pieces taste, but on a more muted level. If you really adore flavor-blasted honey mustard pretzels, you might be disappointed by the milder tang here. Some people prefer that, though—if you’re one of them, you just may think this is the best of the Dot’s pretzels flavors.

- Dot’s Homestyle Pretzels Cinnamon Sugar Seasoned Pretzel Twists
-
With cinnamon sweetness and the oh-so-toasty flavor of the savory pretzel itself, Dot’s Cinnamon Sugar Pretzels are the perfect marriage of salty and sweet. These are cozy fireplace snacks, perfect for fall and late night cravings. Plus, they sort of taste like a crispy churro in pretzel form. Like Dot’s honey mustard pretzels, they have a milder flavor profile overall—which really just means you won’t get sick of them. Ever. Seriously, for a sweet snack, these are dangerous. I don’t have much of a sweet tooth myself, but I couldn’t get enough!

- Dot’s Homestyle Pretzels Southwest Seasoned Pretzel Twists

Dot’s Southwest Seasoned Pretzels were my personal favorite. On taste-test day, you couldn’t pry these from my cold, dead hands. So when I say there isn’t a bad flavor in the bunch, I really mean it. The tang of the seasoning blend really brings out that beautiful butteriness in the pretzel twists. It’s incredibly flavorful, and out of all the Dot’s snacks, it has the with the most diverse blend of savory spices. All that said, I can’t let my bias for garlic and zesty southwest seasoning win out over objective greatness.

- Dot’s Homestyle Snacks Baked Cheese Curls
-
In case I’ve only implied it so far, let me be clear: I think Dot’s makes some of the best pretzels at the grocery store. I knew that going into this taste test, and my beliefs were only reaffirmed coming out of it. What I wasn’t expecting—what no one on the Sporked team expected, really—was how incredible Dot’s Baked Cheese Curls would taste. Talk about a dark horse candidate, you guys. “They’re like a better Cheeto,” said our editor-in-chief Justine Sterling. Controversial? Perhaps, but I stand by the sentiment. With a beautiful crunch on the outside and an airy interior, these are so satisfying to bite into. The buttery cheesiness is addictive, but it’s also not overwhelmingly salty or greasy. Sorry, Cheetos, but you’ve got serious competition now.

- Dot’s Homestyle Pretzels Original Seasoned Pretzel Twists
-
Welcome to the OG savory, salty seasoning blend that started it all. The wind beneath Dot’s wheat pretzel wings. The top-secret recipe worth the big bucks ($1.2 billion, to be exact). Thanks to flavor components like buttermilk, garlic, and onion, Dot’s OG Homestyle Pretzels are like regular salted pretzels on steroids. Is there a person alive who wouldn’t enjoy these? I highly doubt it. They are so buttery, savory, and toasty. You can’t beat the OG, guys. This is the best Dot’s Pretzel flavor, hands down—and that’s saying something, because the competition was fierce.

These are so tasty because they have msg.
Sadly I won’t be consuming them
There’s now a garlic parm that you must throw in the mix. They actually just might beat out the original. You must try them and find out where they rank. Definitely better than the southwest—and I love those. So, try them and see. 🙂
Can I get some samples and coupons. Don’t want buy a big bag and not like them
Honey-mustard is definitely my favorite overall, however, they are all really tasty in their own right other than the Southwest flavored ones, that one left a really strange aftertaste in my mouth for the rest of the day.
They are a little salty. Try them mixed in the same bowl as the cinnamon sugar. The sweet and savory of these two is ironically and a good combo even with the robust flavors of the southwest
