You’ve seen it in your Instagram feed or you’ve heard about it in a podcast ad: Magic Spoon. The cereal brand that taps into millennial nostalgia for sugary, Saturday morning bowlfuls of cereal—but without all the sugar. It even claims to be chock full of protein. But what the heck is in Magic Spoon? Let’s find out.
What is in Magic Spoon cereal?
According to their official statement on the Magic Spoon website, “All of our cereal flavors contain the following ingredients: milk protein blend (casein and whey protein concentrate), monk fruit, allulose, a blend of high oleic sunflower oil and avocado oil, tapioca starch, chicory root fiber, salt, and natural flavors.” So take that, Lucky Charms! You may have hearts, stars, and horseshoes, but give us a call when you’ve got monk fruit!
Is Magic Spoon cereal gluten free?
Magic Spoon is completely gluten-free. This means you can enjoy it without having to worry about any complications of gluten-intolerance or allergy. That’s magic for ya!
Is Magic Spoon keto?
Magic Spoon proudly claims on their website that they are friendly to the keto diet with only three grams of net carbs per serving as opposed to the “leading cereal’s” whopping 20. As long as you don’t go too overboard with the portions (we recommend using a standard cereal bowl and not, say, a satellite dish) you should be able to enjoy Magic Spoon while adhering to the keto lifestyle.
Is Magic Spoon vegan?
Unfortunately, Magic Spoon is not vegan. Since it is made with milk protein (the very milk protein that makes it so great for keto) it cannot be classified as safe for vegan consumption, no matter how much soy milk you pour on top of it. According to their FAQ section, Magic Spoon has stated vague plans to keep a vegan option “in mind” going forward, so be on the lookout for that! Maybe!
