Sometimes the best juice tastes like it was fresh pressed right before it arrived on the grocery store shelf. Other times, the best fruit juice is sweet and sugary and leaves a red stain above your lip. We, the juice-crazed Sporked staff, have tried them all. And now, we’ve listed all the winners of all of our best juice tastes tests here.
From the best orange juice to the best fruit punch to the best tomato juice (we see you, tomato juice drinkers!), here are the best juice brands and the best juices they make that you can buy at the supermarket, no expensive, impossible-to-clean juicer required.

- Simply Orange Pulp-Free
-
Editor-in-chief Justine Sterling called this “the platonic ideal of store-bought orange juice.” It’s sweet and tangy and bright—perfect for gulping down at breakfast or mixing into a cocktail like a Mimosa or a Screwdriver. It’s not quite fresh-squeezed (there’s no pulp, after all), but it comes pretty darn close, and that’s what we want from the best juice at the grocery store.

- Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice Cocktail
-
Ocean Spray isn’t just the most prevalent cranberry juice, it’s also the best juice for cranberry juice lovers, period. “It’s a classic for a reason,” Sporked’s Jordan Myrick wrote in our ranking of the best cranberry juices. “It’s not too sweet and not too tart.” If you’re looking for the best fruit juice to drink straight or use as a mixer, this is a great option.

- O Organics 100% Tomato Juice
-
Sporked contributor Danny Palumbo called this tomato juice “refreshing” in our ranking of the best tomato juice brands. He praised how “natural” the juice tastes and noted that it has less salt and less sugar than its competitors. “It’s all tomato flavor, and I’m here for it,” he wrote. If you’re a tomato juice drinker (or you’re looking for a good base for a homemade Bloody Mary mix), this is one of the best fruit juices for you to have on hand (yes, tomato is a fruit for our purposes).

- Simply Apple
-
We’re big fans of Simply over here at Sporked. And they really outdid themselves with this apple juice. “This not-from-concentrate juice looks and tastes extremely fresh and natural,” managing editor Gwynedd Stuart wrote in her best apple juice ranking. “Like something you’d pick up at a roadside stand attached to an apple orchard.” That’s high praise for a store-bought apple juice. This is the best juice for adults who want to revisit the sweet goodness of apple juice.

- R.W. Knudsen Organic Concord Grape
-
This isn’t just grape juice for kids. It’s bold and complex. “It’s tart and tannic without drying your mouth out,” Gwynedd wrote in her ranking of the best grape juices. She went as far as saying it’s good enough to drink out of a wine glass. If that doesn’t qualify something as one of the best fruit juices out there, then we don’t know what does.

- Evolution Fresh Organic Grapefruit Juice
-
You get what you pay for when you opt for Evolution’s grapefruit juice. Yes, it’s pricey, but it’s also crazy delicious. “The second you twist the lid off this bottle, you can smell the freshness here,” Gwynedd wrote in her ranking of the best grapefruit juice. “And the taste lives up to the smell.” If you can’t grow your own grapefruits in your backyard, Evolution grapefruit juice is the best juice you can buy.

- Kool-Aid Jammers Cherry
-
If you want a juice box, then get a real juice box. Skip the all-natural stuff. Kool-Aid Jammers Cherry is the best of the best. “I can’t believe how good this sweet, tart juice is,” Jordan wrote in our ranking of the best juice boxes. It’s a treat for anyone’s lunchbox. Good job, Kool-Aid Man.

- Simply Fruit Punch
-
We told you Simply is a Sporked favorite. It really is one of the best juice brands, as this cherry-forward fruit punch proves. The mix of pineapple, cherry, lemon, and cranberry juices come together to create a balanced punch that still satisfies a sweet punch craving. Gwynedd called it a “perfect punch.”

- Nature’s Nectar Pineapple Juice
-
Aldi’s pineapple juice is smooth and rich with a delicious tartness on the finish that keeps you coming back sip after sip. It’s tropical and vibrant—like something you’d get at the breakfast bar of a high-end island resort. The best juice can really transport your taste buds, and that’s what this one does.

- Newman’s Own Virgin Lemonade
-
You’ll never do better than fresh-squeezed lemonade, but Newman’s Own gets you close. “It has a nice, zesty quality and is certainly not as sweet as many of the other lemonades we tried,” Justine wrote in her ranking of the best store-bought lemonade. It’s zingy and zippy and if you’re a kid, you could make some decent cash selling it from a stand.

- HanAsia Aloe Original
-
The best aloe vera juice should actually taste good, and this one manages to do that without losing that aloe essence. It’s sweet but not too sweet—and it has chunks! We didn’t even know we wanted our juice to have chunks until this taste test. This is the best juice if you want the cooling, earthy flavor of aloe but you don’t want it to be so over-sweetened that it tastes like gummy bears.

- Snapple Apple
-
Okay, we realize that Snapple only contains 10% real fruit juice, so including it among the best juices is a litttttttle bit of a stretch, but it’s fruity and it’s sweet and we loved those commercials with the Snapple Lady in the ‘90s, so we’re going with it. The brand has innovated a bit over the years, but when it comes to the best Snapple flavor, Snapple Apple is still the GOAT. Sporked taste tester Ariana Losch called it “beautifully crisp, brightly tart, and not too sweet.” In fact, it’s the only Snapple flavor we tried that isn’t too sweet. This is a big ol’ sip of nostalgia and we love it.

- Pressed Greens with Ginger
-
It’s not easy being a green juice on a list of the best fruit juice, but we promise this stuff rules. Pressed Greens with Ginger is packed with veggies (spinach, celery, parsley, kale, and cucumber) but it doesn’t taste overly savory like a lot of other green juices we tried. It’s fresh and light, and mostly tastes like ginger, apple, and lemon. It’s a highly refreshing way to get your veggies in for the day.

- Amazon Fresh Apple Cider
-
Amazon Fresh products can be hit or miss, but this apple cider is the best juice to add to your cart if you won’t be getting around to driving out to an apple orchard this fall. As Justine said, “It’s not quite as vibrant or intensely sweet as the apple cider you get from an orchard, but it’s pretty darn close and pretty darn good.” Hot tip: Mix this with some sparkling water to make a spritz if cider is simply too sugary for you.

- 365 by Whole Foods Organic Tart Cherry Juice
-
People drink tart cherry juice as a sleep aid, and while we can’t tell you which one is most effective (we’re taste-testers, not scientists), we can tell you that Whole Foods sells a tart cherry juice that’s actually pleasant to drink. It’s the sweetest tart cherry juice we tried in our taste test, but don’t worry—it doesn’t have any added sugar. It’s tangy like cranberry juice, and turned a cherry-hater into a convert. That’s the power of the best juice!

- Kroger Low Sodium Vegetable Juice
-
If you’ve been filling your engine with V8 since childhood, we have news: Kroger’s generic low sodium vegetable juice is actually tastier. Wild, right? You can taste several elements—tomato, carrot, watercress—and the lower sodium levels make it taste healthier, too. As Justine said, “It’s like green juice, but it’s red.”
