- Sprouts Creamy and Unsalted Almond Butter
-
Thank you, Sprouts, for putting your almond butter in a wide container that let me stir everything together without straining my wrist. Big points for that. Plus, you can really taste the nut here. Yep, I said what I said. This has a strong, pure, unsweetened almond flavor that would work well in a healthy smoothie or acai bowl. The texture is an interesting mix of rough, gritty, and creamy, and it’s surprisingly easy to spread. (We also tried the Sprouts organic version, which I found much harder to stir and spread, just FYI.) This is the best almond butter for almond butter purists. —Ariana Losch

- Maisie Jane’s Crunchy Almond Butter

I rarely see almond butters that aren’t smooth, so I was intrigued by Maisie Jane’s Crunchy Almond Butter. It’s speckled with tiny chunks of nuts, but this nut butter still maintains a smooth, creamy base that perfectly contrasts with the almond pieces. It has a complex, deep flavor because it’s made with 100% dry roasted almonds. The natural, unprocessed texture and the cute little bee on the jar make me feel effortlessly outdoorsy and in touch with nature (like someone who lives a #VanLife). That lighter, gooier consistency is pretty irresistible, and really makes it stand out as unique among all the best almond butter on our list.
