Earlier this summer, Coca-Cola (makers of Powerade) dropped a super innovative, new kind of sports drink: Sour Powerade (I’m still personally disappointed it wasn’t called Sourade, but I digress). They dropped three flavors: Green Apple, Blue Razz, and Watermelon Lime. I tried them, and while two out of three weren’t half bad, across-the-board my biggest complaint was that they simply just were not sour enough. If you felt that way as well, fear not dear reader, Powerade is bringing the remedy in 2025.
According to the super snack duo of SnachWithZach and Team Supernova, Sour Powerade is set to return next summer with new flavors—and this time they’re gonna be extra sour.
What are the new Sour Powerade flavors?
This new Powerade drop will feature three all new flavors: Cherry Kicker, Grape Shocker, and Peach Pucker. But wait, it’s not Sour Powerade this time, because Powerade is now calling this line Powerade XTRA Sour! Additionally there will be a freeze release of last year’s Green Apple, also under the new XTRA Sour name.
Coca-Cola promises that these flavors will offer an “XTRA boost of Sour Flavor to its lineup of flavors.” It’s anyone’s guess as to what might be used to up the ante and just how much more sour it’s going to be.
When will Powerade XTRA Sour be out?
Much like this year’s summer Sourade drop, next year’s XTRA Sour line will also drop in the summer. Sources say they should be showing up on shelves around June in 28 oz bottles. If you are a fan of sour things, this might just be worth adding to your hunting list for next summer!
