New Starry Cranberry Blizz Has Just One Flaw

The holidays are a magical time of year filled with lots and lots of different sodas (and the not-as-festive Monster Dew Game Fuel), including the soda we’re reviewing today. It’s the first new Starry flavor that has been released since Starry launched in January of 2023. It’s Starry Cranberry Blizz!

The can describes it as “lemon lime cranberry flavor with other natural flavors.” What is most notable about this release is that it is available in zero sugar only. While fans of full sugar beverages can currently snag a cranberry-infused Starry at KFC for the holidays as part of their cranberry menu, we aren’t counting that. So, let’s crack into Starry Cranberry Blizz (zero sugar) and see how it is!

New Holiday Starry!

Starry Cranberry Blizz Zero Sugar

Pros: I’m going to say something controversial. I think Starry is fantastic—better than Sierra Mist (I’d go as far to call it Sierra Midst). And I think the cranberry flavor of seasonal Starry is fantastic. It manages to be both very light and flavorful, and works really well with the lemon-lime flavor. I could absolutely see this being used to make some fantastic holiday cocktails (I’m brainstorming some right now). Another massive pro here is unlike Sierra Mist Cranberry Splash, Starry Cranberry Blizz does NOT use Red 40. There are no dyes involved.

Cons: I hate to fault a zero sugar soda for being a zero sugar soda, but I can’t help but wonder if the cranberry flavor would come through a little stronger if there was a full sugar option. Next year, Starry, let’s get a full sugar version in bottles and cans.
