Winter Sprite!

Let me preface all of this by saying I have not been lucky enough to experience the regular Cranberry Sprite. I’m sure it’s great. But all I can do is talk about the Winter Spiced Cranberry Sprite. And you know what? It’s pretty good.

Pros: This holiday Sprite smells very cranberry cocktail-forward. You get that sweet-tangy scent right away. And that follows through when you sip it. It tastes like Sprite. It tastes like cranberry. And it tastes like spice in the most generic, fall-scented-candle kind of way, which works in a soda. I don’t want fresh grated nutmeg in my winter Sprite. I want the essence of a cinnamon broom. Though I couldn’t drink a big bottle of this stuff, the little 7.5oz cans are the perfect amount of this spiced, fruity holiday Sprite.

Cons: It’s not super spiced. So, if you were hoping for a melange of identifiable baking spices, you’ll be let down. But otherwise, unless you were hoping this somehow became a cranberry Sprite dupe, I think you’ll be pretty pleased with Winter Spiced Cranberry Sprite.

Sprite Winter Spiced Cranberry Zero Sugar

Winter Sprite Zero!

Sprite Winter Spiced Cranberry Zero Sugar

I wish I could be as positive about Winter Spiced Cranberry Sprite Zero Sugar, but, alas, it simply did not live up to its full-sugar sibling.

Pros: It does start out with a somewhat okay cranberry flavor. And the spice is very, very light. You catch the slightest hint of spices on the finish. But, for the most part, it tastes like Sprite Zero Sugar mixed with a splash of diet cranberry juice. And if that’s your drink of choice, then it’s all yours.

Cons: It’s just so zero sugar-y. That fake sweetener flavor overtakes everything and it really lingers in your mouth. I don’t want my sodas to have a long aftertaste, tbh, especially when it’s a zero cal sweetener flavor. You’re much better off adding a splash of cran and a cinnamon stick to a glass of Sprite Zero Sugar.
