What’s the 37th big new product revealed at that convenience store expo over in Vegas, you ask? This time around, we’ve got news about the next innovation from Coca-Cola. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that this new Coke flavor was shown so quickly after the announcement that “permanent addition” Coca-Cola Spiced underperformed itself to death in a few months’ time. Coke even stated to the media that they discontinued Coca-Cola Spiced to “introduce an exciting new flavor in 2025.” Out with the old, in with the new. Folks, say hello to Coca-Cola Orange Cream.
Orange Cream Coca-Cola? Didn’t we already have that?
Didn’t you hear what the statement said? This is an exciting new flavor. Jokes aside, Coca-Cola is no stranger to orange variants of their soda. Both regular and zero sugar versions of Coca-Cola Orange Vanilla were quietly pulled off shelves in early 2022. And, just a few months ago, Coca-Cola Orange Vanilla was removed as an option from Coca-Cola Freestyle machines.
It seems like Coke wants people ravenous over the return of any variant of Orange Coca-Cola, even if it isn’t one they’re familiar with. Reliable sources are stating this will be a brand new Coke recipe, meaning we’re pretty much guaranteed to see angry petitions demanding the return of the “real” Orange Vanilla Coke.
Zero sugar? Zero sugar!? Will this new Coke flavor be in zero sugar?
See, I saved you the energy of making the comment. Yes, Coca-Cola Orange Cream will also be available in zero sugar. Right now, it looks like the full sugar version will be released in 20oz bottles, 12-packs of 12oz cans, and those cute 7.5oz mini cans for babies. Zero sugar won’t be available in minis, but you’ll be able to find it in bottles and regular cans.
Orange Cream sounds like Dreamsicle…didn’t we already have that?
Maybe! While it was never officially revealed as such, the Coca-Cola Creations flavor “Dreamworld” was widely believed to be orange creamsicle-ish. Ideally, this new take on the flavor combo will be more confidently “orange” than the broader citrus flavor I got out of Dreamworld. Still, Dreamworld rated pretty well in my ranking—orange and vanilla consistently do well in Coca-Cola.
Is this new Coca-Cola flavor going to be limited-time-only?
Folks, I wish I knew. At this time, all I know is that Coca-Cola Orange Cream will launch in the first few months of 2025. Friend and fellow soda newshound SnachWithZach believes releasing such a summer-coded flavor in the wintertime means we’ll see it through summer and beyond. It’s a good theory, but there’s no confirmation just yet. When we know, you’ll know.
