Y’all, there are… so many drinks. Every day, I scour the deepest corners of the internet for news on the newest drinks coming out—and it never ends. Case in point: the article you’re about to read, all about five new energy/hydration drinks coming down the pike.
Some of this news came to me directly from sneaky folks in proverbial parking garages, some came from the NACS database, and some came from those wholesale sites that love posting product images earlier than they should. Let’s get into the juicy details about the new (mostly) energy drinks coming soon.
Starbucks Iced Energy
When I reviewed Starbucks’ in-store Iced Energy drinks earlier this year, I was pretty confident we’d see the concept hit shelves sooner or later. I should have made some sort of bet about it with the doubters, because this upcoming release has the same name and everything. Per the NACS listing for this new product, Starbucks Iced Energy will feature “fruit-flavored energy fueled by plant-based caffeine, vitamins and electrolytes.” That sounds a lot like the drinks I tried earlier this year, but I’m keeping my ears to the ground for more information to confirm that.
Starbucks Frappuccino Lite
This is simultaneously less and more interesting than all the “new” drinks I’m covering. It’s surprising a lower-sugar version of Starbucks’ wildly popular bottled Frappuccinos took this long, but it’s finally coming. Per the NACS listing, each bottle will max out at 100 calories with no added sugar.
PRIME Berry Freeze Hydration
This is going to be announced any day now, I just don’t know when. PRIME politely declined my request for comment on the renders of Berry Freeze that hit the web earlier this month in the same “leak” that revealed the next Alani Nu Energy flavor. As a big fan of their last Freeze flavor (PRIME Cherry Freeze is pretty much a dupe of my favorite Gatorade flavor, Glacier Cherry), I’m looking forward to trying this one whenever it hits shelves.
Rockstar Punched Pineapple
The NACS database continues to deliver: a new Rockstar is hitting shelves in the near future. The last pineapple-flavored Rockstar Punched flavor contained just 160mg of caffeine, while this new version ups the ante all the way to 240mg. Rockstar Recovery Pineapple Coconut is one of my all-time favorite energy drinks; if this is going to be anything like that cult classic, sign me up!
Bang Sour Ropes Energy
This one’s an early exclusive for y’all: Bang lives! Lots of people thought Bang Energy might be scrapped for parts when Monster bought the company out of bankruptcy last year. Bang has been pretty quiet since then, announcing a light rebrand, but no new flavors. That drought ends in January, 2025, when Bang Energy launches Sour Ropes Energy. Sour candy is quite a popular genre of energy drink, so I’m sure this new flavor will stick the landing as well as Bang always does. And fear not, Bang lovers, the high caffeine content is remaining untouched; every can of Sour Ropes will contain 300mg of caffeine.
