Coca-Cola Is Releasing a Pixel-Flavored Flavor in May

Have you ever seen video game graphics so pretty you want to lick your computer screen? Well, on May 2 Coke is giving you the chance to take a big swig. They are releasing a new limited-edition pixel-flavored Coke called Coca-Cola Zero Sugar Byte as part of their Coca-Cola Creations line.

Okay, I have SO many questions.

Firstly (and I’m sure you’re thinking this too), what flavor is this actually? Electrical fire? Windows 7? Laptop bacteria?  Secondly, who is this for?

I immediately took to the internet to get more info, and that’s when I found out about Coke Starlight.

This fizzy pixel juice is not the first time Coca-Cola has released a non-food flavored drink. They recently came out with a space-flavored Coca-Cola called Starlight (also part of their Coca-Cola Creations line) which supposedly tastes like, “stargazing around a campfire, as well as a cooling sensation that evokes the feeling of a cold journey to space,” according to the company. However, according to human people, it tastes like, “regular Coke with added fruity and vanilla flavor.”

I found plenty of info about Starlight Coke, but so far the company has only teased Coca-Cola Zero Sugar Byte. All we know is that it’s coming in May, it tastes like pixels, it’s aimed at gamers, and Coca-Cola has created a Fortnight Island as promotion, which consists of mini-games and more.

So, the question remains, what does Coca-Cola think pixels taste like?

Here’s my guess:

Pixels are made up of differing intensities of three colors: red, green, and blue. Those color levels change depending on what final color you are trying to make appear on your screen. I bet Coca-Cola will choose to represent those colors with Cherry, Green Apple, and Blue Raspberry flavoring. Perhaps each can contains a differing amount of each flavor. Then, they could make it a game for people to try to guess the RGB (red/green/blue) values of their specific can. Graphic designers, tech bros, gamers, and Coca-Cola sommeliers alike would go nuts for this. Or, you know, it could just be electrical fire flavored. ~Spicy~
