In my heart, I want to be a full-sized candy bar house on Halloween. Alas, according to my bank account, I am squarely in a fun-size candy bar income bracket. So that means I have to prioritize style over size, and seek out unique and unexpected Halloween candy for the trick-or-treaters who grace my doorstep. Treats that are a departure from the norm. Every kid is bound to get tons of mini Hershey bars and teensy bags of Skittles—they don’t need more! Luckily, the Walgreens Halloween candy section is full of interesting options. Here’s some of the best Halloween candy at Walgreens we spotted on a recent visit. Stock up now or add these to your November 1 wishlist when everything goes on sale.
- Tootsie Roll Pops Minis
-
You’re probably well aware that Tootsie Roll has a tight grip on spooky season. No trick-or-treat haul is complete without a Tootsie Roll or a Tootsie Pop in the mix. These mini Tootsie Pops I spotted in the Walgreens Halloween candy section are the size of Dum-Dums, but they’re better than Dum-Dums because they have a squishy chocolate center. You get 200 pops (aka a lot of pops) in this bag, so feel free to let the neighbor kids feel like they’re robbing you blind by grabbing a whole fistful.
- Tootsie Roll Halloween Harvest Chews
-
I know I said that Tootsie Rolls are a spooky season standard. And I also said I was looking for unique Halloween treats that would set me apart from my boring neighbors. But this Walgreens Halloween candy mix stood out because these aren’t your average Tootsie Rolls. Nay. Tootsie Roll’s Harvest Chews come in cinnamon, caramel apple, candy corn, and pumpkin spice. It’s generally frowned upon to give out loose handfuls of candy corn or the cuter candy pumpkins, so this is a better way to bring those flavors to the masses while keeping food safety in mind. (It’s worth noting that the Walgreens Halloween candy section does stock the best candy corn, so you should still buy that for your own consumption.)
- Haribo Trick or Treat Mix
-
God bless the ever expanding reach of global products! My mom spent some time in Germany, so we’re a Haribo family. Growing up, Haribo candies were harder to find, so anytime someone in my family went abroad, they’d bring back some to share. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine I would one day be able to get it while out trick-or-treating. What beauty! What wonder! Share a bit of that joy with the next generation by getting this mix—which includes Haribo Goldbears, Twin Snakes, Happy Cola, Sour Vampire Bats, and Ghostly Gummies—in the Walgreens Halloween candy aisle.

- Welch’s Mixed Fruit Snacks
-
There’s always one family on the block that hands out something somewhat healthy on Halloween to push good eating habits during a night of pure sugary debauchery. That could be you! I won’t personally make that choice because I like to fully lean into the fun, but I respect it if you choose to grab these Welch’s Halloween-themed fruit snacks from Walgreens.

- Assorted Hershey Candy
-
Okay, this is the Walgreens Halloween candy assortment to grab if you want to hit ’em with the classics—but there are some surprises in this bag, too. Yes, you’ll find many Halloween staples that I do think deserve to be dished out even if I want to step outside the norm. What would Halloween really be without Hershey bars, Kit Kat, or Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups? But there’s a special treat hiding in this mix: Reese’s Pumpkins, aka one of the best Reese’s formats. That’s why I’m getting this mix—and saving the pumpkins for myself.
- Tootsie Roll Child’s Play Mix
-
We’re talking about Child’s Play the candy mix, not the 1988 classic horror movie (although Walgreens might have that in their cheap DVD section, if you still have a DVD player to watch it). I was taught to respect my elders and there’s nothing older when it comes to Halloween than the Tootsie Roll Child’s Play mix. Seriously, this stuff has been around forever! Might it be the first Halloween candy mix ever produced? Don’t fact check me on that. But if you want to bring it back to basics, you can find this fairly stacked mix of Tootsie Rolls, Tootsie Fruit Chews, Pops, and Dots in the Walgreens Halloween candy section.
- Ferrara Kiddie Candy Mix
-
It’s unbelievably humorous to name this candy mix the “kiddie mix,” because I have never once met a kid who willingly chose Lemonheads over other candies. As bad as the name is, I still think a mix that includes a few Lemonhead variants, Gobstoppers, and Now and Later is helpful to the fruit lovers out there. They need something to enjoy, too, and when the shelves of Walgreens are mostly filled with chocolate options, you know it’s not going to be pretty for them. Grab this for the chocolate-haters, even if they aren’t exactly “kiddies” anymore.
