What to Buy at Dollar Tree in October

The true and underrated beauty of shopping at Dollar Tree is that nearly everything is $1.25. “Duhhh, that’s the whole point,” you say, but you’re not seeing the whole picture here. Nearly everything is $1.25—including the new, weird, and unique products that you won’t find anywhere else. It’s like having your very own Sporked taste test at your fingertips for only $1.25 per item. We at Sporked love to help you decide what’s worth your money at the grocery store, but we can’t get to everything under the sun. At least not yet. So in the meantime, here’s what to buy at Dollar Tree this month if you’re in the market for some taste test-worthy treats.

Banquet Sausage and Gravy Deep Dish Pot Pie

The worst thing imaginable is waking up and going to work. The second worst thing imaginable is trying to make a full breakfast before you stumble into work. Banquet’s new sausage and gravy pot pie is a great middle ground between going all out for breakfast and heading out the door on an empty stomach. Just grab a few from Dollar Tree and pop one in the microwave while you finish getting ready for the day.

Loaded Taco Corn Nuts

At first, this snack might sound nuts (get it?). Ranch Corn Nuts make sense—Loaded Taco Corn Nuts sound way too out-there. But hear me out: Tacos are made with corn tortillas. Corn and tacos go together like peanut butter and jelly. Wait, did I just invent peanut butter and jelly Corn Nuts? Anyway, these Loaded Taco Corn Nuts purportedly taste like garlic, onion, tomato, paprika and lime, and have that classic Corn Nut crunch that isn’t for the weak of tooth. If you love new snacks like truckers love Corn Nuts, then add these to your list of what to buy at Dollar Tree.

Sweet Chaos Delightfully Disruptive Dill Pickle Popcorn

There’s nothing earth-shatteringly different between dill pickle chips and dill pickle popcorn. They both taste the same besides the obvious difference—one flavor builds off of potato chips and one builds off of popcorn. But I love dill pickle chips, so I will always advocate for them! And this little bag of pickle popcorn just so happens to be the perfect size for sneaking into the movies. You can have a funky version of the theater classic and save yourself from spending $30 on a bucket of theater popped popcorn and a soda. Swing by Dollar Tree on your way to the theater and enjoy.

Sonic Vanilla Shake Instant Pudding

I have never found myself longing for an instant pudding that tastes like Sonic’s vanilla shake. Hell, I’ve never even thought of that as a possibility until I saw it in a Dollar Tree. But now that I know it exists? I love it and I need it. I love a product that tastes like another product and this is no exception. Grab this for the next party you host and be ready to smugly say, “Yeah, that’s the Sonic vanilla shake” when someone asks why it tastes so familiar. Probably worth having some shades nearby that you can put on when you say it, too. That’ll look cooler.

Victor Allen Pumpkin Spice Iced Latte

Spoiler alert: We’ll be publishing an updated version of the best drinks to by at Dollar Tree soon, but I wanted to throw this in a little early for a few reasons. I do think pumpkin spice is best enjoyed in October, so this canned pumpkin spice latte better fits a month-specific roundup. It should be well known by now that I love all the quirky drinks that Dollar Tree sells, so that list is sure to be filled to the brim with other great bevs. Rejoice and snag a few of these canned lattes from Dollar Tree before they vanish.

Diana’s Peanut Butter Cup Banana Halves

There is a ton of ice cream to buy at Dollar Tree, so it’s nice to see a similar but unique product available in the same section. Frozen bananas dipped in peanut butter and chocolate? Delicious and reasonably healthy! It’s like a more accessible version of Reese’s banana slices. I’d much rather eat one off of a stick than try to fight the clock while my fingers warm up the frozen chocolate!

Chipwich Ice Cream Sandwich

See, I told you there’s a lot of ice cream at Dollar Tree! So much that I’m still finding new things to try and recommend even after months of going to Dollar Tree to check out what’s on shelves. These ice cream sandwiches stood out amid the sea of ice cream treats because I don’t think I’ve actually ever had a official Chipwich ice cream sandwich. Which does sound ridiculous when I say it out loud. I’ve had a lot of ice cream sandwiches and certainly heard the name Chipwich, but only ever used to describe chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches as a whole (akin to Kleenex for facial tissues). Thankfully, that can all be corrected now. I tossed these bad boys in my Dollar Tree cart.

Hostess Honey Buns Donettes

I’m a hardcore Little Debbie supporter, but I’ll cross the aisle into Hostess territory to try a new product if I see it. Maybe they’ll win me over one day. A honey bun-flavored mini donut sure is a strong candidate to do just that. I saw these at Dollar Tree and although every single package looked like they were stomped on, they should still all taste the same so I did grab one to try. I’ll be honest—there are few foods I wouldn’t try for $1.25.
