What to Buy at Costco in June

I spend a lot of time at Costco—what can I say, I’m a sucker for a $1.50 hot dog combo—but every month, lo and behold, there are loads of new and exciting things to check out. If you don’t have the time to scour the aisles for interesting new products that help you make the most of your Costco membership, we get it. And that’s why we’re here to help. Whether you’re looking for (or didn’t know you were looking for) irresistible frozen treats, savory snacks, or luscious dumplings, here’s our roundup of what to buy at Costco this month. Just don’t forget your hot dog combo on the way out.

Afters Cookie Monster Ice Cream Bars

I fell to my knees in Costco when I saw this box of ice cream bars. Screaming, crying, throwing up at the beauty that was in front of me. I’d never thought I’d see trendy California-based ice cream brand Afters in Costco, and of all the flavors they could have carried, they went with cookies and cream. It’s like a love letter to me (and by extension, all my wonderful fans—you’re all fans, RIGHT?). But this isn’t an average cookies and cream ice cream. For one thing, it contains both Oreo and chocolate chip cookie bits. There’s also a ribbon of fudge wending through the Madagascar vanilla ice cream base, along with a fudgy coating. Oh and I did I mention that the ice cream is bright-ass blue? Add these to your list of what to buy at Costco in June and thank me later.

Epoca Cool Plus Low Fat Banana Milk

Before I spotted this Epoca banana milk at Costco, I’d never seen banana milk in the wild before. I expected it to be milk from a banana, akin to oat or almond milk, but the ingredient list tells a different story. It’s a base of low fat cow’s milk with banana puree added. I’m not mad about it, just surprised. This is a great way to get your banana fix and get some calcium, too. It’s the perfect Costco find for people who love the way bananas taste but can’t get down with the mushy texture.

Castello Flavored Cream Cheese Spreads

This combo pack comes with three rings of creamy spread: Green & Red Bell Pepper, Ginger, Chili & Coconut, and Pineapple, Almond & Papaya. One is sweet, one is savory, and one is a little bit of both—even though you’re getting a lot of spread at once, you’re not going to get bored if you buy this. Have any summer parties coming up? Add this to your Costco shopping list. Or you can grab a 12-pack of bagels from the bakery and have breakfast settled for the next couple of weeks.

MìLà Pork Soup Dumplings

If you don’t live near Din Tai Fung or another trusted soup dumpling purveyor, frozen soup dumplings are the truth and the way. They’re so savory and so satisfying. Trader Joe’s has some good ones (some of Sporked‘s favorites, in fact), but these MìLà dumplings—which promise to be “restaurant quality—are worth giving a shot. You get around 32 dumplings in a 1.75 lb bag, and we bet they’ll go faster than you think they will. Sometimes the best things to buy at Costco are tasty freezer staples, and this is one of them.

Soban Korean Sweet & Spicy Yangnyeom Style Puffs

Korean fried chicken is one of the best chicken preparations, full stop. So these Korean fried chicken seasoned snacks must also be the best, right? There’s only one way to find out and, unfortunately, you’re going to have to buy a Costco-sized bag of puffs to find out. I believe in us, though. When it comes to the best things to buy at Costco, sometimes you just have to leap before you look!

Summ! Strawberry Apple Pie Rolls

My favorite section at Costco is the end cap with refrigerated snacks that come in cute glass jars, like the Petit Pot Mexican hot chocolate desserts I included in last month’s roundup of Costco finds. Unfortunately, there wasn’t anything new of the “petite glass cups” variety, but I did see these cutie apple pie rolls! They have the same energy, for sure. This is a mini dessert you can have on hand when you need a quick hit of sugar to keep you going through the afternoon slump. You get strawberries and apples inside a crispy little spring roll wrapper. I think we’d all eat more pie if it came in this format, right?

JOJO’s Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Filled Bites

These dark chocolate peanut butter-filled bites look dangerous. I know it’s not a challenge, but I could easily finish a bag of these in one sitting—and I can because they’re low sugar, soy free, and gluten free, while still being fun and indulgent. One reason these make the list of the best things to buy at Costco this month? They’re low sugar but they don’t contain monkfruit or other alternative sweeteners that can tend to make a desserty treat taste downright diety. These are made with naturally low sugar ingredients, and JOJO’s lets them shine. If you love Reese’s but can’t do all that sugar, add these to your Costco cart.
