September Aldi Finds We Can’t Wait to Try

As time endlessly marches onward, so too does the endless stream of new products at Aldi. It seems like just a couple of weeks ago we were talking through all of the new July goodies cropping up on Aldi’s chaotic but treasure-filled warehouse shelves. Alas, it is now September. Fall is nigh. Cinnamon is in the air, along with your your coworker Megan’s latte. Your weird aunt’s cat is wearing its sweater and/or pumpkin costume on Facebook. Your weird aunt is wearing a matching sweater and/or pumpkin costume on Facebook. Yes, the seasons are changing quicker and quicker but all we can really do in life is try to keep up—so here we are, comin’ atcha with this month’s Aldi finds that we are most excited to try.

Sundae Shoppe Pumpkin Spice & Cinnamon Apple Ice Cream (Available Sept. 4 for $2.29)

Who doesn’t love some fall-themed ‘scream? People who aren’t fun, that’s who. And lucky for fun people, Aldi’s fall-themed ice creams are back and I cannot wait to test them out. I am a firm believer that more ice creams need cinnamon in them, and since both this cinnamon apple and this pumpkin spice ice cream further that agenda, I must say I am fully on board.

Casa Mamita Stuffed Nachos (Available Sept. 25 for $3.99)

“What exactly is a stuffed Nacho?!” I hear you cry. Great question—I too had no idea until I took a peek at a picture on the packaging and realized that…I still don’t fully know what these are. But do I want to try them? Oh absolutely. They look a bit like deep-fried ravioli but triangular and stuffed full of beef and cheese and (I assume) some spices. I bet these would be absolutely fire dipped in some sour cream, guac, salsa, or queso.

Mama Cozzi Thin Crust Queso Pizza (Available Sept. 25 for $4.99)

This one almost looks like Aldi’s take on Taco Bell’s Mexican Pizza. The sauce appears to be queso and the toppings are beef, tomato, onion, jalapeño, and mozzarella and cheddar cheese. It looks a little like an open-face quesadilla, or if white people taco night were a pizza. All the same, I kind of want this, and I kind of want to doctor it with salsas, cilantro, cotija, radishes, and some braised meat like birria or something. Is that crazy? Maybe. Or maybe it’s just crazy enough to work. Or maybe it’s Maybelline. We won’t know until we try it!

Choceur Caramel Apple Chocolate Clusters (Available Sept. 4 for $3.49)

Oh what’s this? Another new Aldi product that you can’t really decipher based on the name? You betcha. But while we initially weren’t 100% clear on what these clusters are, we were 100% sure we wanted to try them and find out. The packaging indicates that they are made of “soft, creamy caramel apple caramel with shortbread cookie pieces and milk chocolate with peanut sprinkles”. These essentially sound like caramel apple Samoas, and now I just want to try these even more.

Mama Cozzi Pumpkin Shaped Pizza (Available Sept. 25 for $4.99)

Ever wish your pizza was cuter? Ever had a weird aunt who dresses her cat in a pumpkin costume and would definitely want a pizza shaped like a pumpkin to match her whole fall vibe as well? Enter Mama Cozzi Pumpkin-Shaped pizza. As far as we can tell, it’s just a cheese pizza with a whole lot of personality. That is to say, it has a little jack-o’-lantern face and it is extremely cute.

Park Street Deli Cannoli Dips (Available Sept. 6 for $3.39)

Lastly but not leastly, we have cannoli. Well, these aren’t exactly cannoli, but rather cannoli fillings meant to have cookies and other things dipped in them. The three flavors offered will be Snickerdoodle, Chocolate Chip, and Salted Caramel, and while we don’t know exactly what is in them, we can only assume they are sweetened ricotta mixtures complete with plenty of awesome fall flavor and ripe for the dippin’. I bet these would be great with apples, strawberries, graham crackers, and even crispy fried wonton wrappers. YUM!
