- Trader Joe’s Tarragon Chicken Salad Wrap
-
If you’re looking for the best Trader Joe’s product to pick up for a quick, on-the-go lunch, look no further. Lemony, tarragon-y, and fresh, this chicken salad wrap took the top spot in our ranking of the best wraps at Trader Joe’s. It gets some good crunch from crisp iceberg lettuce, which really put it over the top. When was the last time iceberg lettuce was the deciding factor in a winning food?

- Simpler Times Lager
-
Sporked editor-in-chief Justine Sterling was worried people were going to get on her case when she declared that a cheap-o canned lager is the best beer Trader Joe’s sells, but she’s a beer expert and you should trust her on this one. She liked that it “smelled fresh and malty,” adding that it’s “a perfect day-drinking beer and it tastes way better than PBR or Bud Light.” And did we mention it’s cheap?

- Trader Joe’s New England Clam Chowder
-
Make some room in the fridge, because this is the best Trader Joe’s soup we tasted. It’s creamy, packed with clams and silky potatoes, and perfectly seasoned. You could totally pass this off as clam chowder from a restaurant. Pour it into a bread bowl and absolutely go to town.

- Trader Joe’s Traditional Style Fat Free Refried Beans
-
Okay, we know most people aren’t looking for a Trader Joe’s review of something basic like refried beans. They aren’t flashy like everything bagel smoked salmon pizza rolls or whatever. That being said, managing editor Gwynedd Stuart loved these refried beans because they have “the most bean flavor of any can we cracked.” Plus, they’re really smooth and creamy. These are perfect for a quick and delicious meal at home any day of the week. After a second taste test, they were bumped from the top spot on our ranking, but they’re still very good.

- Trader Joe’s Sicilian Selezione Extra Virgin Olive Oil
-
Trader Joe’s sells a lot of olive oils, but not all of them taste great. We tried as many as we could find at our local TJ’s, and their Sicilian olive oil won handily. It’s subtle enough to use for sautéing, but fruity and zesty enough to use as a dip for bread, as well. If you’re looking for the best Trader Joe’s groceries because you’re stocking up on pantry staples, don’t leave this olive oil off the list.

- Trader Joe’s Family Style Meat Lasagna
-
This Trader Joe’s Family-Style Meat Lasagna is delicious. The ingredients and flavors are simple yet satisfying. Really, this frozen lasagna cooks up so well in an oven that you could find yourself forgetting it isn’t homemade. You get savory beef and pork, you get creamy ricotta in the middle, you get plenty of flavorful marinara sauce, and you get a lot of everything because they don’t skimp on any ingredient. It’s comfort in an oven-bakeable (or microwaveable) dish—what’s not to love?

- Trader Joe’s Buffalo Style Chicken Dip
-
Good job, Trader Joe’s! This is an exceptional product. What we love about this buffalo chicken dip is that it tastes like buffalo chicken dip mixed with ranch dressing, so you get the whole experience of enjoying a buffalo wing. Plus, the tub is big and very affordable. You can put this out at a party or enjoy it with crackers for a quick lunch. One of our taste testers slathered this on a flour tortilla with lettuce, cucumber, and red onion, and it was incredible.

- Trader Joe’s Parmesan Pastry Pups
-
Managing editor Gwynedd Stuart tried all the Trader Joe’s appetizers she could get her hands on and determined that these Parmesan Pastry Pups are the absolute best. “Besides having a cute name, Parmesan Pastry Pups are the best Trader Joe’s frozen appetizer you can buy if you want to make something that literally every omnivore wants to eat, and they’ll save you the effort it takes to wrap and bake dozens of cocktail franks.” What more could you want from an appetizer?

- Trader Joe’s Instant Boba Kit
-
One of my favorite Trader Joe’s groceries is the Instant Boba Kit. It’s almost as good as what you’ll get at a boba shop. The tapioca balls are so chewy. The tea is the perfect level of sweetness. You actually taste brown sugar and not just sugar. We also love that this kit is vegan and is totally customizable. You can use whatever kind of milk you prefer to make a delicious bubble tea for your dietary and taste preferences. Plus, this instant boba kit is cheap and easy to find. This is a huge win for you, Trader Joe’s!

- Trader Joe’s Cabernet Sauvignon Block Wine
-
Good boxed wine shouldn’t taste like it came out of a box, and that’s why Trader Joe’s Block Cabernet Sauvignon is our favorite box wine at TJ’s. It may not be immediately identifiable as a Cabernet to true wine snobs, but you’re still going to enjoy it. It’s light and complex with pleasantly floral aromatics. This is a wine that is very easy and enjoyable to drink, and if that isn’t what you want in a good boxed wine, we don’t know what is.

- Trader Joe’s Buttermilk Ranch
-
We really cannot get enough of Trader Joe’s Buttermilk Ranch (find it in the refrigerated section). It’s so wonderfully herbaceous, with lots of dill, along with a buttermilk tang. It’s rich and creamy (but not thick). It’ll upgrade the most basic of salads, but you’ll probably be reaching for it for other stuff, too. Carrot sticks? Potato chips? A spoon? They’re all going right in this ranch.

- Trader Joe’s Creamy Toscano Cheese Soaked in Syrah
-
Hey look, it’s wine and cheese all in one delicious wedge. TJ’s Creamy Toscano Cheese Soaked in Syrah has excellent depth of flavor—it’s simultaneously salty and sweet, and it even has those delicious little flavor crystals you find in good aged cheeses. Put this on the cheese board and it’s sure to be a hit.

- Trader Joe’s Chevre with Honey
-
When we tasted and ranked all the sweet cheeses at Trader Joe’s, this honey-tinged chevre came out on top. It combines the natural tartness and tang of goat cheese with the round sweetness of honey in such a wonderful way. There’s a delicious complementary flavor relationship here, and we’re loving it. And even if sweet cheese sounds weird, we bet you’ll get a lot of use out of this stuff. A little sweetness smeared on a salty cracker? Yes, please.

- Onion Salt
-
Trader Joe’s is known for their seasoning blends and we tried all of them. Well, Gwynedd tried all of them. And while onion salt may seem like a boring choice for a product on a roundup of the best Trader Joe’s groceries, “this onion salt has a lot more going on than onion and salt,” as Gwynedd put it. It has a “really excellent oniony, herbaceous flavor.” This would be good on pretty much anything, but we’re partial to coating chicken wings in this savory stuff,

- Organic Roasted Vegetable Pizza
-
This is one of the most delicious things we’ve had from Trader Joe’s. You figure veggie pizza is going to be mediocre, but this one is special. The sauce, cheese, and crust have incredible flavor. Most importantly, the vegetables on this vegetable pizza are actually good (which is rare for a veggie pizza). Gwynedd agrees that this is “an excellent pie and the best frozen veggie pizza we tasted.” A best Trader Joe’s grocery haul would not be complete without one of these pizzas.

- Dairy Free Shredded Parmesan Cheese Alternative
-
This vegan cheese was one of the best vegan products we had in 2022. Justine “ate a handful of this shredded ‘parmesan’ thinking [she would] be disappointed” Instead, “it was downright delicious.” We all agreed that, while it’s not quite as pungent as dairy parmesan, the shreds are packed with umami and have a nice creamy finish. It has a wonderful nutty flavor, just like classic parm! Even if you don’t typically like plant-based products, give this cheese a try. It’s one of the best Trader Joe’s products you can buy.

- Lemony Arugula Basil Salad Kit
-
Once in a while, we taste something so good that it becomes a permanent fixture on our personal shopping lists. This Trader Joe’s salad kit is that good. Why? According to Justine, “The dressing is very bright and zingy. The almonds are small so they cling to the lettuce, creating a lovely crunch. The carrots are shaved so it’s all the same consistency. It’s simple but perfect.” You can’t do much better than perfection.

- Trader Joe’s Rainbow’s End Trail Mix
-
Trader Joe’s stuck to the basics in the best possible way when they made this Rainbow’s End trail mix. Rather than try to reinvent trail mix, they brought the best of the best of classic trail mix flavors. The roasted peanuts and almonds are fresh and salty, the raisins are plump and sweet, and the candy-coated chocolate—oh boy don’t get us started! These little discs are way better than M&M’s. This stuff is a satisfying snack, whether you’re hiking the trail or laying on that couch watching Grey’s—we don’t judge!

- Trader Joe’s Petite Peas
-
Okay, this isn’t the most exciting Trader Joe’s product on this list, but if you’re looking for reliable staples, you have to pick up a few bags of Trader Joe’s petite peas. These peas are pleasantly earthy and sweet on the finish. They burst in your mouth as you eat them. Add these to pasta e sure not to confuse them with Trader Joe’s organic frozen peas—they frankly don’t hold a candle to this pea perfection!
