Every single company on planet Earth has its own take on the PSL trend. From late August to the end of November, the sweet and spicy seasonal flavor is basically inescapable. It’s not my favorite, but sometimes it works (this pumpkin spice popcorn was pretty good).
Skinny Dipped’s new Pumpkin Spice Almonds are here to add their two cents to the pumpkin spice discourse. We gave them a shot—and a Sporked score.
This company’s claim to fame is that they put a thin coating of stuff onto their nuts instead of a thick coating of stuff, making them different from other coated-nut brands. I’m not sure if that’s necessarily a selling point for me, but I can’t deny that what they sell tastes good.
This seasonal flavor consists of whole roasted almonds dipped in a thin coating of sweet vanilla-y yogurt and then tossed in a blend of maple sugar, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, clove, nutmeg, and sea salt. They’re crunchy, a little creamy, and the pumpkin spice blend is extremely flavorful and balanced. Tossed into a trail mix or eaten on their own, I think any pumpkin-spice head would be a fan of these coated almonds.
