Mountain Dew is more than just a maker of soda. It’s also a maker of slushy flavors (be they Slurpees or Frosters). Some of those flavors deserve as much celebration as the best Mountain Dew flavors. And one of them is about to make a triumphant return. Yes, Mountain Dew Blue Shock is coming back.
What is Mountain Dew Blue Shock?
Originally released as a Slurpee back in 2002 at 7-Eleven locations in the United States. Though it has only been the flavor of slushy drinks in the States, it has also seen success as a soda flavor internationally in countries like Canada, Singapore, Pakistan, the Philippines, and Malaysia (where it is still being sold in bottles). Blue Shock was described as a blue raspberry citrus flavor—some fans compare it to Voltage—though it is notably missing Voltage’s signature ginseng.
When is Mountain Dew Blue Shock coming back? Where can I get it?
Thanks to Team Supernova, soda extraordinaire, we know that Mountain Dew Blue Shock will be resurrected at the place that started it all, 7-Eleven (and Speedway), as a Slurpee flavor once again. Our sources tell us that Blue Shock Slurpee will be landing THIS MONTH (October). But it will only be for a limited time only, probably ending sometime in January. While we haven’t seen it out in the wild yet, it should be popping up any day now! Keep your eyes peeled.
Will the Blue Shock Slurpee be available in zero sugar?
While 7-Eleven has done zero sugar Slurpees in the past, unfortunately that is not the case this time. Sorry, pal.
